By Akeem Lawal
NIGERIA Professional Football League outfit, Kwara United will engage Nigeria National League side Kogi United in a friendly match at the Main Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium on Saturday.

The friendly match is being put together to prepare the two teams during their league break which is currently indefinitely postponed due to a leadership tussle in the Nigeria Football Federation.

Kwara United are 15th on the NPFL log while Kogi United are topping their Group A2 table of the NNL before the break.

Technical Adviser of the Harmony Boys, Abubakar Bala said the team will continue to engage teams in friendly so as to keep the players in shape.

“We are preparing and the players are responding very well. We don’t have any choice than to continue to keep the players busy during this break with series of friendly matches and part of is the hosting of Kogi United on Saturday morning. We engaged Shooting Stars of Ibadan last week and we supposed to play MFM in Lagos on Wednesday but the match could not hold due to some unforeseen circumstances. So we are looking forward to welcome our neighbors to Ilorin on Saturday,” Bala told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.

Kogi United media officer, Wale Mustapha said the friendly is important to his team as they are aiming for a promotion to the first division.

“We rounded up our friendly trip to Minna with a 2-1 win over the amateu side, Top Squad after playing goalless with Niger Tornadoes. Our game against Kwara United will be another test for the team as we are keen on securing a ticket to the NPFL this season,” Mustapha told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
