First career league title excites Ideye

NIGERIAN striker, Brown Ideye is still basking in the euphoria of winning his first career league title with newly crowned Greek champions, Olympiacos FC.

Ideye was in action as Olympiacos won the Greek Super League after defeating AEL Kalloni 5-0 in the club's last league game of the season at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki on Sunday, Sportsbiz247 reports.

Ideye who provided the assist for Olympiacos’ fourth goal which was well executed by Omar Elabdellaoui in the 77th minute, capped it up with his 10th league goal in 24 league appearances as his beautiful strike in the 84th minute helped the Athens-based club claim their 43rd domestic title.

The former West Brom and Dynamo Kiev striker however revealed that his title triumph with Olympiacos brought back good memories of Nigeria's success at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

“Great & emotional day for me. The last time I felt this way, was at AFCON 2013. So excited! First league win in my career.

“A big thank you to all who have supported us through this journey. We are champions!! @olympiacos_org,” the 27year old explained via his official Twitter handle @OfficialIdeye.
