RANGERS manager, Steve Gerrard has revealed that Nigeria international Leon Balogun has a “50-50” chance of being fit enough to feature in the Scottish Premiership clash at St Mirren on Sunday.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the Super Eagles centre-back limped out of Thursday night's Europa League 2-0 win over Brondby having earlier opened the scoring with a powerful header.
But the 33-year-old appeared to pick up a hamstring issue during the second-half and was substituted.
Balogun was later spotted walking around pitchside, suggesting the problem was not a serious one.
Ibrox boss Gerrard hasn't ruled the Nigerian out of Sunday's visit to Paisley but conceded he remains a fitness doubt.
"We will give Leon every chance for the weekend, he is still a doubt but not ruled out just yet.
"He has an outside chance for the weekend but we also have to analyse the risk so we will make a really late decision on that one but it is probably 50-50,” Gerrard said.
A lay-off for Balogun would further tighten Rangers' options at centre-back, with Filip Helander a long-term absentee and Nikola Katic on-loan in Croatia.
