Etebo steps up injury recovery

By Akeem Lawal

NIGERIA international Oghenekaro Etebo boosted his hopes of playing again for Watford this season by returning to solo training at Waftord FC Training Centre.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the Super Eagles midfielder posted an update to Instagram on Friday of him doing various exercises, four weeks after his leg injury.

In the video, the 25-year-old showed himself walking in the pool carefully and determinedly while lifting an object.

In another clip, he also showed off his recovery process while doing resistance band work, using weight lifting machines and doing feet- balancing exercises.
“step by step”, he captioned the videos.

Etebo, who is on loan from Stoke, looked to be in good spirits as he steps up his recovery following surgery after suffering a tore quad muscle in the Hornets' 1-1 draw against Newcastle late September.

He is expected to be out for between four and five months, therefore set to miss the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, which begins on 9 January.
