SPECIAL Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kano State on Sports, Kabiru Baita has heaped praises on the organisers of the Berackiah/Abigol Football Coaching Clinic.
Baita hosted the Berackiah/Abigol Football Coaching Clinic crew who paid him a courtesy visit at his office on Tuesday in Kano.
According to him, "Getting Grade A certified coaches in Kano and Nigeria was a big challenge for Kano Pillars when going for Confederation of African Football (CAF) club tournaments, as it was a core requirements for teams.
"It was sad that Kano been an active football hub in the country very few coaches in the state possessed such qualification. It will be a thing of the past with the Berackiah/Abigol Clinic.
"We're delighted that such quality football coaching programme is coming to Kano, as top grade coaches won't be a scare commondity in Nigeria.
"It will help improve the technical knowledge of our coaches as they are been exposed to the new trends in coaching and football, viz-a-viz these coaches passing such skills to players at the grassroots."
The former Kano Pillars boss gave reasons why the Sai Masu Gida is still a top team in Nigeria's domestic football.
"Credit must go to the Kano State Executive Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for making sports and indeed Pillars as a top priority in terms of funding and welfare.
"Over the years Kano Pillars has been a dominant force in the NPFL winning titles but on the continent the team lacked some elements of luck. Despite been knocked out of this year's Confederation Cup, the team have proved critics wrong by doing well in the NPFL.
"The message to Pillars fans is for them to keep faith in the team, football has evolved over time as results can go in favour or against their team. However, I want to assure them that Pillars will win a trophy at the end of this season.”
