FORMER Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo, says joining Saudi Arabian club, Al-Shabab is the beginning of another chapter in his footballing career.

The former Super Eagles forward joined the Saudi Arabian top flight club on a two and half years deal on Thursday after ending his loan spell at Manchester United from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua.

He was due to return to his parent club but both parties agreed it was best for him to move on.

The 31-year-old scored five goals in 23 appearances across all competitions for United after arriving on Deadline Day last January, but has made only two starts this season since Edinson Cavani joined in October.

Ighalo, who will wear the number 89 shirt for Al-Shabab uploaded a short video and some pictures with his representative Atta Aneke and officials of his new club.

“New Chapter... we move,” he wrote alongside the video.

Al Shabab sit top of the Saudi Professional League with half the season gone. And they hope Ighalo can fire them to their first title since 2012.

“Al Shabab has been signed with the Nigerian 🇳🇬🦅 Odion Ighalo @ighalojude (Ex. Man United striker) for a two and a half years. #Alshabab #ShababFC,” the Riyad-based outfit wrote on its Twitter account.

The Nigerian will now play alongside former Sevilla star Ever Banega at his new home.
