MFM 1-1 Rangers: Rangers lucky to get a point, says Bolus

By Akeem Lawal

THE coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM FC), Tony Bolus believes Enugu Rangers were lucking to go home with a point from their NPFL matchday 5 encounter held at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes took the lead in the 24th minute through a flick header from Ugochukwu Ugwuoke, but Muyiwa Balogun puts the Olukoya Boys back into the game five minutes later with a brilliant finish.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the encounter, Bolus said the aim is now to get at least a point in their next match to make up for the one lost at home.

“It’s not the result we hoped for, but it’s still okay, better than losing at home. We didn’t show Rangers any respect. We respect them as a team. Personally I’ve never lost to Rangers. When I was with Giwa FC, I beat them home and away. Last season we defeated them at their home ground. So for them to get a result here, it’s just luck on their side.

“We will take every game as it comes. Since we got a draw at home, we must go elsewhere to look for a point. That is our aim this season. We have target of a point and we must achieve our goal. Every nine games, we have a target we must make. Definitely since we drew at home, we will go somewhere else and get a point.

Rangers assistant coach, Mbwas Mangut gave credits to his players even though he believes that his side deserved to have won the match.

“We have to give credit to the boys for a job well done in a very difficult mobile young side. We were able to get a point. We are not disappointed. We came here to see if we can get the maximum three points. We created more scoring opportunities but we couldn’t convert them.

“We keep building and progressing with more matches and it is our belief that we will deliver the goods at the end of the season.”
