Adejubu 100% fit for Lobi clash in Akure

By Akeem Lawal

SUNSHINE Stars wizkid, Ayo Adejubu has declared himself fit for the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday four clash against Lobi Stars at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure today after picking an injury in their last game against MFM.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that Adejubu was substituted in the 83rd minute of the encounter decided at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Sunday following a knock on his leg with Qazeem Obanigba coming on for him.

The young and energetic forward, who was a thorn in the flesh for the MFM defenders during his stay on the pitch, was heavily applauded by journalists and officials at the stadium as he was being taken off.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Adejubu said the injury is not bad as initially feared as he trained with the rest of the team on Tuesday.

“I got injured a few minutes to the end of the game and I felt disappointed that I could not finish the match. We were dominating possession and at that point we were closer on getting an equalizer before I collided with one of the defenders of the MFM team during a build-up. Overall, we had a very good game against MFM but unfortunately we couldn’t get at least a point from the encounter.

“The injury is just a minor one and I am 100 percent fit for the match against Lobi Stars. We had our final training session this morning (Tuesday) and the team is in high spirits of securing the maximum points at stake.

Adejubu, who has the semblance of dazzling wingers like Tijjani Babangida and Pius Ikedia, said he hopes to continue his football development under Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, whom he holds in high esteem.

“I am really getting into the team and I am enjoying myself. So far I have started all the three games so far this season and I hope to continue to develop my game under one of the best coaches in this country, Coach Gbenga Ogunbote. He believes in me and he is giving me that opportunity and playing time needed,” he told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
