NIGERIA international Victor Osimhen emerged the fastest player during Napoli’s 2-0 victory over Parma at the Ennio Tardini on Sunday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Super Eagles forward, who made an inspiring Serie A debut despite playing for just 29 minutes of the encounter, clocked a staggering maximum sprint speed of 34.05 km/h.
According to statistics, Osimhen is closely followed by Napoli teammate Dries Mertens with a sprint speed of 31.78 km/h, while Parma forward Yann Karamoah is third with 31.74 km/h.
Napoli captain, Lorenzo Insigne is fourth on the speed rating with 31.6 km/h while Giovanni Di Lorenzo is fifth with 31.49 km/hr.
Following a goalless first half, Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso took off Diego Demme in the 62nd minute, bringing on Osimhen for his first official game since joining the Italian giants from Lille in a big-money move worth up to €80 million during the summer.
The introduction of the Nigerian completely changed the game for the Partenopei, who had struggled to break through the Parma defence for most part of the match.
Napoli immediately took the lead through the club’s all-time top scorer Mertens in the 64th minute before Insigne doubled their lead with 13 minutes left on the clock.
Osimhen’s presence was evident, registering four key passes, two shots, albeit off-target, making two clearances and completing all five his passes.
