NIGERIA international Victor Osimhen on Tuesday underwent Coronavirus test together with his Napoli team mates after Sunday’s Serie A opponent, Genoa recorded 14 positive tests for the virus, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The Nigeria international grabbed an assist in his first competitive start, setting up Piotr Zielinski for Napoli’s second goal, amid other dazzling displays in their 6-0 victory over Genoa.

On Monday, just 24 hours after that game held at the at the Stadio San Paolo, Genoa announced that 11 players and three members of staff tested positive for COVID-19, perhaps including six who played against Napoli.

Report states that there were some symptoms among the team as they returned to Genoa, prompting the new round of swab.

Napoli have reportedly asked Genoa for a list of the players that tested positive for Covid-19, so that they can be extra careful with players who they came into contact with, most especially Osimhen, who came face-to-face with Andrea Masiello.

The Super Eagles forward received a yellow card in the 90th minute after he was involved in a scuffle with Genoa’s Mattia Destro and Masiello as the duo were also cautioned.

Napoli however got a big sigh of relief as Masiello was not on the list of players that tested positive that Genoa gave the club.

According to Corriere dello Sport, all the players and staff of Napoli underwent Covid 19 test on Tuesday with the results expected to be out on Wednesday.

Giuseppe Director of SSC Napoli medical consultancy, the laboratory that deals with Napoli swabs, reveals that the Coach Gennaro Gattuso team will undergo another test on Friday in view of the match against Juventus on Sunday.

"I'm afraid the execution was too rushed according to the protocol. It would have been better to wait for tomorrow, but in case of positive contacts, we wait 72 hours. Before each trip, however, they take a swab: so before leaving for Turin they will certainly do another one. To avoid any kind of contagion, it is safer to wait for the negativity of the next test” Portella, Professor (Associate) of University of Naples Federico II told Radio Punto Nuovo.
