SUPER Eagles defensive duo,
Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem will have their cups full when Leganes face
Spanish giant, Barcelona in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey clash at Camp Nou
tonight.
The Nigerian centre-backs,
who put up an excellent performance to help Leganes to secure an important
draw against La Liga giant Atletico Madrid last weekend, will be hoping to
continue against the Lionel Messi-led Barcelona that will enter this match off the
back of a defeat, having suffered a 2-0 loss at Valencia on Saturday.
Both Omeruo and Awaziem, who
were unused substitute as Leganes defeated Ebro 1-0 at the Estadio Pedro Sancho
last Wednesday, will be hoping to be in action against the Spanish champions that
came from behind to beat Ibiza 2-1, thanks to two Antoine Griezmann goals in the
second half of the encounter.
The match is expected to a
tough one for the relegation-threatened Leganes as no team has won the Copa del
Rey on more occasions than Barca, although the Catalan giants lost 2-1 to
Valencia in last season's final.
