GOtv Boxing Night 13: Oladosu bags N2.5m as Fijabi, Oto win ABU titles

RILWAN ‘Real One’ Oladosu emerged the Best Boxer and won the N2.5 million cash prize attached to the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy at GOtv Boxing Night 13 held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday night, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.


Oladosu defeated hard fighting Kehinde “Ijoba” Bhadmus by unanimous decision in a thrilling eight-round National Lightweight Challenge to cart home the top prize.


Rilwan “Scorpion” Oyekola, who was making his debut at GOtv Boxing Night, was voted second Best Boxer and won N1m after knocking out Jimoh ” Hogan Jimoh Jr” Lukman in the first round of the National Lightweight Challenge bout.

Also, Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, who defeated Chijioke “Painless” Ngige to win the National Light Welterweight title and was voted 3rd boxer of the night, went home with N500,000.


The two African Boxing Union  (ABU) title bouts held on the night saw Olaide “Fijaborn” Fijabi defeated Shadrack Ignas Kobero of Tanzania by Knock Out to claim the ABU Light Welterweight title, while Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph also knocked out Abdulrahim Ahmed of Egypt to win the ABU Lightweight crown.

Nigeria’s Abolaji “Afonja Warrior” Rasheed successfully defended his West African Boxing Union Middleweight title by beating Arye Ayitteh of Ghana via unanimous decision.

Obinna “Wiseman” Matthew knocked out Cosmos “Awosika” David in the National Super Middleweight Challenge.

The fans however had a fun filled night as they were also treated to live performances by top artists including Small Doctor, Reekado Banks, Falz The Bhad Guy and PWalex.
