SUNSHINE Stars defender, Rock Thuram Durand has declared himself fit for the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 29 clash against Nasarawa United billed for Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode on Sunday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Benin international was replaced by Nojeem Raji on the half hour mark after being injured during the team's 4-2 victory over ABS FC at the Kwara State Stadium last weekend.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, the former FC Cape Town defender who joined the Owena Waves during the mid-season transfer till the end of the season, said he is happy to shake off the injury on time ahead of the crucial encounter.
"The injury was not much as it first looked like. I guess the coach did not want to aggravate it and that was why he had to make that substitution. I was accessed after the match and it was revealed that it was just minor. So I've been training with the rest of the team since Monday and right now I am 100 percent fit and ready to go.
"We've been preparing so hard for our next game because we wanted to consolidate on our last weekend's victory over ABS. We don't want to take any chances because we know that if we drop any point at home, that victory in Ilorin will be of no value again. It is a must-win game for us.
"So the spirit in camp is high as we remain focused on the task ahead, " Durand who had also featured for FC Tonnerre in the Benin Premier League, told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
Sunshine Stars are placed 16th on the NPFL log with 36 points, just two points adrift Nasarawa United who are in ninth position.
