CLUB Deportivo Lugo have officially unveiled Nigeria
international, Ramon Azeez, who joined the Spanish Segunda Division side on a
two-year deal, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Super Eagles midfielder was presented to the press on
Friday alongside Spanish defender, Eduard Campabadal.
“Eduard Campabadal (@educampabadal) and Ramón Azeez
(@azeezOlamy), presented this afternoon as new players of the @CDeportivoLugo,”
the club announced via official Twitter account on Friday.
Azeez, who scored two goals in 22 appearances for Almeria
last season as they finished 15th in the Segunda division, passed a medical on
Thursday before signing a contract that will keep him in Lugo for the next
two years an option of an extension sequel to his performance.
Speaking during his unveiling, the 24 year old said he is
ready to give his best and help the club achieve its aspiration in the coming
season.
“Thanks to the CD Lugo for bringing me here. I received a
call from the coach (Francisco Rodríguez) and I am very happy to join this
club.
"I like to fight in the field because I am a box to
box player. I’m happy with the reception given to me and I promise to do my
best for the club,” Azeez said.
Azeez made 108
appearances and scored eight goals providing nine assists during his time at
Almeria.
The former Future Pro midfielder has also represented
Nigeria at U-17 and captained the country’s team to win the 2011 Under-20 AFCON in
South Africa.
