NIGER Tornadoes midfielder, Peter Momoh has dedicated his
maiden Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) goal that earned his side a
1-0 victory over hard-fighting Remo Stars at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja to
the entire team, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Momoh, who was presented the Man of The Match award by Chairman,
Niger Tornadoes Fans Club, Silas Jako for his outstanding performance, said
that he was happy to be part of the team that gave the Ikon Allah the
all-important maximum point at home in the NPFL matchday 27 encounter.
He applauded the confidence that the coaching crew has
reposed on him and his colleagues since the commencement of the league.
“I am dedicating this goal to my sweet mum for her
endless prayers and my team mates for their total commitment. I appreciates God
almighty who made it possible for me to score the goal, it would not have been
possible if my teammates did not supply me the ball to score, the goal scored
is for the entire team”, said the former Kaduna United midfielder.
According to him, the team's Technical Adviser, Abubakar
Bala has given them much confidence and believing in them despite their lack of
NPFL experience.
“I really want to thank our coach for his belief in me,
he has always told me that I can do it and I have never doubted him. With my
goal, being the first of my NPFL, I still have a lot to offer,” he added.
Momoh added that they (players) were happy with their
performance, assuring that they will continue to push forward for a better
place finish.
The result has moved Tornadoes to 8th on the NPFL log
with 40 points as they will now travel to Calabar to take on Enyimba in the
next game.
