Uzoho: I can finally dive again

By Akeem Lawal

SUPER Eagles and APOEL Nicosia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is in high spirit after recording a significant improvement in his recovery process.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the Nigeria international, who recently resumed training after a lengthy period on the sidelines due to injury, shared a picture from his training session where he dived to save a ball on his Instagram account.

The 21-year-old, who was so delighted with his fitness level wrote, “WOW, I can finally dive again. IN CHRIST ALONE,” along with the picture.

The goalkeeper had since been sidelined from action suffering a ligament injury back in October during Super Eagles’ international friendly outing against five-time world champions Brazil in Singapore.

APOEL began their campaign in the 2020/2021 Cypriot First Division season yesterday with a 2-2 draw with Karmiotissa Pano Polemidion at the Neo GSP. Uzoho will be hoping to be available for his new club in the early stages of the season.

APOEL will also be participating in the 2020-21 Europa League first qualifying round after they finished third on the league table before the Cypriot First Division was declared null and void because of the coronavirus pandemic. The team will take on the winners of the Europa League Preliminary game between Tre Penne Galazzano of San Marino and Kosovo’s Sport Club Gjilani.
