SUPER Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will begin his pre-season training camp with Napoli on August 24 in Castel di Sangro, Central Italy, ahead of the 2020-21 Serie A season, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
While announcing the training camp which will run till September 4, Napoli revealed that the location was chosen by the club and coach Gennaro Gattuso, in a valley near L’Aquila, in the Abruzzo region.
According to a statement, the Azzurri will have their first training session on Monday afternoon. Two friendly matches will be held as part of the camp in Castel di Sangro, with the dates of these to be confirmed in due course.
The Nigeria international who is currently on a holiday, signed for the Italian side from French Ligue 1 side Lille.
The 21-year-old was signed for $96 million (about £73 million) the most expensive African player in history. The reported fee eclipses the $94 million (£72 million) Arsenal paid Lille last year to secure the services of Côte d'Ivoire winger Nicolas Pépé.
The highly-rated striker had a successful season in Lille scoring 13 goals in 27 league matches while adding another five in other competitions for an overall tally of 18 goals.
He is expected to return to Italy for his official unveiling as a Napoli player before joining his new teammates for the pre-season.
