SUPER Eagles winger, Moses Simon was on target as FC Nantes defeated Ligue 2 side Le Havre Athletic Club 3-1 in a friendly match on Saturday in preparations for the 2020/2021 Ligue 1 season scheduled to start on August 21.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the match played at the Moreau Defarges Stadium, in France, saw the Nigeria international put Nantes in front just 10 minutes into the game with a nice half-volley left foot but the Yellow conceded a goal just before the break  from the penalty spot converted by Abdelli.

The Ligue 1 side regained the advantage in the 49th minute thanks to a beautiful header from Kalifa Coulibaly after linking up with Kadar Bamba, before Bridge Ndilu cemented victory in the 90th minute of the encounter.

Simon, who recently signed a permanent deal with the canaries until June 2024 from Spanish side Levante, was listed in the FC Nantes’ Best XI of the Decade by fans of the French Ligue 1 side. He was also adjudged as the best player of the 2019/2020 season.

The 25-year-old was one of the club’s star performers, before the season ended prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Nigerian, who was voted Nantes Player for the month of January scored nine goals and provided another eight assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow Canaries.
