NIGERIA international, Francis Uzoho will not be waiting much longer before making his debut for Apoel Nicosia after recovering fully from injury that has kept him out of action for close to a year, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper suffered a ligament injury
during his country’s international friendly outing against five-time world
champions Brazil in Singapore back in October last year.
The 21-year-old, who is yet to make an official appearance for Apoel Nicosia since he joined the Cypriot outfit on a three-year deal from Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna, was on the bench in the club’s goalless draw away at Ermis Aradippou last weekend.
The former Elche goalkeeper could not hide his joy on the
new development as he took to his social media account to give glory God almighty.
He also expressed appreciation to everyone who helped him back to full fitness,
including Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr for the care.
“What more can i say but thank you God. A big thank you
to everyone who helped me throughout this journey back to full fitness, my
surgeon to the physiotherapist in Depor, Omonioa and Apoel, my family and to
all my fans through your prayers and well wishes. Also to Super Eagles coach
and his crew for constantly checking up on me. IN CHRIST ALONE,” he said via
his Instagram account.
Uzoho, who has already been left out of the Nigeria’s
25-man squad for this month’s friendly clash against Algeria and Tunisia in
Austria, is expected to make his debut for the club after the international break.
Apoel currently in eight place with eight points after
five matches will host PAFOS in the Game week 7 of the Cypriot First Division
match at the Neo GSP (Nicosía (Levkosía) on October 17.
