SUPER Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr has responded to the team’s 1-0 loss to African champions Algeria in an international friendly in Austria by focusing on the positive side of the game, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
A lone goal by Raimi Bensebaini in the sixth minute of the encounter was all the Desert Foxes needed to emerge victorious at the Wörthersee Stadium, Klagenfurt over the Nigerian side that were hoping to avenge the 2-1 suffered to the team in the semifinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Bensebaini poked home from close range after the Eagles defence failed to clear their lines from a corner kick.
Rohr handed debuts to left back Zaidu Sanusi, right back Kelvin Akpoguma and defensive midfielders Frank Onyeka and Samson Tijani while Genk striker Paul Onuachu was in action in the absence of Napoli's Victor Osimhen.
The German tactician has now shift focus to Tuesday, October 13 where the Super Eagles will take on Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the Jacques Lemans Arena.
"This is a very good test for us. There are positives to pick from a tough game like this. Now we have to recover well and start to plan for the next game on Tuesday against another tough team," Rohr said after the game.
