World football governing body, FIFA has tipped Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa to hit the target at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and become the first Nigerian to score in three World Cup tournaments, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Super Eagles captain became the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match, after scoring twice against Argentina in Brazil 2014. He is also the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup competitions, after scoring twice against Iceland in the group stage of the Russia 2018 edition.
The former Machester City forward
bagged his 93rd appearance for Nigeria in Tuesday’s international friendly against
Tunisia in Austria, providing an assist to help the Super Eagles record a 1-1
draw in the encounter.
The Al-Nassr forward turned 28 on
Wednesday and FIFA celebrated him by uploading a 31 seconds video compilation
of his four goals for the three-time African champions at the global
tournaments on the federation’s verified Twitter handled.
