SUNSHINE Stars of Akure have
secured the services of Chijioke Akuneto, Julius Emiloju, Olatunde Abisoye and
Jonathan Zikiye from MFM FC of Lagos ahead of the 2019/2020 Nigeria
Professional Football League season, Sportbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Akure based side broke
the news on the club’s official Twitter handle in its new month message to the
fans.
“Sunshineers, how about some
New Month presents: We have secured a deal for the transfer of @MFMFC_Lagos'
Chijioke Akuneto, Emiloju Julius, Olatunde Abisoye & Jonathan Zikiye. Details
follow medical in due course,” the club said via @SunshineFCAkure.
Sunshine Stars Media
Officer, Chris Okunnuwa informed Sportbiz247.blogspot.com that the players will be part of
the pre-season program.
“The players will be part of
Sunshine Stars’ campaign this coming season as we are coming big this time
around. We want to compete for every trophy this season and that starts by
getting good players to match our ambition. They will have their medicals by
next week and be part of our pre-season camping which will be announced soon,”
Okunnuwa told Sportbiz247.blogspot.com.
Sportbiz247.blogspot.com had earlier
hinted that Akuneto and Emiloju were close to leaving Olukoya Boys with top
clubs waiting on the wings to secure their services following the expiration of
their contracts at the end of last season.
The Lagos-based outfit has
been hit by players exodus in recent time with their skipper Austin Opara joining
NPFL defending champions Enyimba last week.
