Nigeria' fastest man, Seye
Ogunlewe will lead the country’s charge for medal in the men’s 200m event at
the ongoing 12th Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
According to the entry list for
Athletics at the Games made available on Thursday, the three-time national
champion will don the colours of the country alongside Emmanuel Arowolo and
Usheoritse Itsekiri.
Alphonsus Aniekeme, Chukwuma
Rosemary and Ofili Favour Chukwuka will represent the country in the women’s
200m event.
Rave of the moment, Divine
Oduduru to lead the country’s 100m team that also have Usheoritse Itsekiri and
Raymond Ekevwo, while the women's category will see Africa’s Queen of the
Tracks, Blessing Okagbare – Ighoteguonor lead alongside Aniekeme Alphonsus and
Joy Udo-Gabriel.
In the men’s 400m event,
Nathaniel Samson, Ojeli Emmanuel and Okezie Anthony will represent Nigeria,
while George Okon, Ofili Chukwuka and Obi Jecinta will compete in the women’s
400, event.
Tobi Amusan and Ayemoba
Grace Ikaluse will represent Nigeria in the Women's 100m Hurdles, while Abejoye
Oyeniyi Ezekiel will compete in the Men's 110m Hurdles.
Women's 4x400m Relay,
Nigeria will have Akpan Abasiamo Uwemedimo, George Okon, Oladoye Blessing Lomi
and Ossai Rita, while Adeyemi Sikiru Adewale, Akpeki Shedrack, Eraiyokan Orukpe
Joseph and Ibadin Edose will team-up in the men’s Men's
4x400m Relay.
Seye Ogunlewe will team-up
with Adegoke Enoch, Egwero Ogho-oghene and Ekevwo Raymond in the Men's 4x100m
Relay, while the Women's 4x100m Relay will have Adekunle Bukola Jasper, Ntia-Obong
Mercy, Nwokocha Nzubechi Grace and Ogundiran Blessing.
Nigeria will have Alowonle
Rilwan Mohammed and Emoghene Timothy Onajite in the Men's 400m Hurdles, and Akpan
Abasiamo Uwemedim in the women’s 400m Hurdles.
Ibadin Edose will be
Nigeria’s sole reprersentive in the Men's 800m, and Olude Fadekemi Florence will
compete in the Women's 20km Walk.
Osadolor Aiyowieren Samuel
will be in the Men's Decathlon, while Francis Oluwakemi Ruth will compete in
the Women's Heptathlon.
Osadolor Aiyowieren Samuel
will compete in both the Men's Pole Vault and the Men's Decathlon.
The duo of Anigbata Grace
and Isah Esther will participate in the Women's High Jump, while Erhire
Omamuyovwi will be the country’s sole representative in the Men's High Jump.
Reigning African champion Ese
Brume and Anigbata Grace will compete in the Women's Long Jump, while Anigbata
Grace will compete in the Women's Triple Jump.
Chinecherem Nnamdi Prosper
and Kure Samuel Adams will campaign in the Men’s Javelin Throw, while Nwanaga Kelechi Promise
will compete in the Women's Javelin Throw.
Obisesan Queen Funmilayo and
Ogunrinde Temilola Olatoke will compete in the Women's Hammer Throw.
The trio of Kara Princess, Onyekwere
Chima Chukwujindu and Anumba Ashley Ifeoma will compete in the Women's Discus
Throw.
Also, the trio of Anumba
Ashley Ifeoma, Olatoye Oyesade Adetola and Onyekwere Chima Chukwujindu will
compete in the Women's Shot Put.
Enekwechi Chukwuebuka
Cornnell and Ogundeji Ayomidotun Kelvin will represent the country in the Men's
Shot Put event.
The Athletics event will
hold at the Stade Olympique - Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat,
Morocco from 26 to 30 August 2019.
