Super Eagles and Torino
full-back Ola Aina has been given a three-match ban for his red card in the
Italian Serie A game against Bologna at the weekend.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the Nigeria international
was shown a straight red card in stoppage time of the 3-2 defeat for showing
dissent to referee Maurizio Mariani.
The Federazione Italiana
Giuoco Calcio, FIGC's sporting judiciary handed the three-game punishment to
the 22 year old on Tuesday.
Aina, who was declared
injured and replaced by Akwa United star Ndifreke Effiong by Super Eagles
coach, Gernot Rohr for the African Cup of Nations qualifier game with
Seychelles and friendly tie with Egypt on March 22 and 24 respectively, had since
appologised for the indiscipline.
On resumption from
international break, Aina will miss Torino’s next the matches against
Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Parma due to the suspension.
This season, the on-loan
Chelsea player has been impressive since joining the side last summer, helping
them to keep 10 clean sheets in 24 league appearances.
