Lagos U-18 karate championship holds July 1

SAMCHI Karate Acedemy in conjunction with Lagos State Karate Association is staging her 1st edition of Lagos State U - 18 Karate Championship at the Rowe Park Sports Complex on Saturday 1st of July, 2017.


The championship which is being powered by MMM Nigeria will see participants contest for laurels in 5 Kata and 6 Kumite events.

The chief operation officer and founder of Samchi Karate Academy, Sensei Samuel Adejebe who also doubles as the Coordinator of Japan (Nihon) Karate - Do Seikokai Suzuki- Ha Shito - Ryu informed sportsbiz247.blogspot.com that the hosting of the championship for young boys and girls within the age of 18 and under is a way of contributing their quota to the development of karate revolutionary among the youths in the Nigeria.

"Our aim is by catching on them at an early stage with a vision of getting the sport become a familiar art in the schools all over by making the art go in tandem with education and also helping upcoming generation achieve their full potentials with benefits such as toughness, courtesy, fearlessness in nature, mental power development and physical fitness. This will make every child to have a sense of self defence and environmental security, by which means karate will become popularise among the youths of the country, much more now that karate is now an Olympic sport," Adejebe told sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.

Top karate official from the Karate Federation of Nigeria, Lagos State sports commission and others are expected to be in attendance.
