Ogu wants to make Champions League history with Hapoel

Nigeria international, John Ogu has revealed that he is ready to make history with Israel Premier League champions, Hapoel Be’er Sheva as they host Sheriff of Moldova in the Champions League second qualifying round at the Turner Stadium on Tuesday.


Ogu who was instrumental as The Camels won their first league title in their history last season, is now hoping to help the team to their first ever Champions League play-off spot.

The Nigerian midfielder, who was part of the squad that had a 10-day pre-season training in Poland, shared his training pictures on his official Instagram account with a caption, “With God ,all things are possible!!🙏🙏🙏. First official game of the season comes up tomorrow and it is the UEFA Champions League playoff…A big dream. With God, hard work and dedication. Time to make another History 🙏🙏”.


The 28-year-old scored four goals in 34 league appearances and got the award of best foreign player in the league. He also finished third in the Player of the Season poll.
