 By Akeem Lawal

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will engage the El Tri of Mexico in an international friendly at the Coliseum in Los Angeles, USA on the 3rd of July, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The Mexico National Team made the announcement via its official Twitter account on Tuesday.

“LA we're back!!! On July 3 we will face Nigeria!!!! Who's in for the ride??!! MEXTOUR | #FMFporNuestroFútbol,” the tweet read.

Ranked No. 11 in the latest FIFA world rankings, Mexico’s last game in Southern California was a 7-0 blitz of Cuba in its opening game of the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Mexico hasn’t played in the Coliseum since May 2017, when it lost to Croatia 2-1.

The Nigeria match is the fourth of five friendlies Mexico will play in the U.S. this year, in addition to June’s Nations League finals in Denver and July’s Gold Cup. The tour begins May 29 against Iceland in Arlington, Texas, and also includes June dates with Honduras (in Atlanta) and Panama (in Nashville).

Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr had already drawn up a provisional squad list of 31 players for Nigeria’s prestige international friendly game against five-time African champions Cameroon in Austria on Friday, 4th June 2021.

The game will take place at the Wiener Neustadt in the Austrian capital, Vienna starting from 8.30 pm Austria time.
