Division 1 Volleyball: Kwara, Sokoto, Kada, Bauchi record win on Day 1

KWARA United Volleyball Club, Sokoto United, Kada Kings and Bauchi won their first matches at the ongoing 2021 National Division One Volleyball League in Kaduna State.

 

In the men’s first match, Kwara United showed supremacy over the Caliphate Spikers of Sokoto beating them 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-21). Adedayo Oke was outstanding throughout the three sets as he dictated the pace and momentum of the match.

 

The Captain of Kwara United attributed the performance of his team to adequate camping and motivation by the state government and the association chairman.

 

He promised that Kwara United VC will not disappoint their fans.

 

“We had our game plan before coming to the league. We were camped for over two months with proper encouragement from the state government led by Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the SA on Sports and the Association Chairman.

“By the grace of God, we will not disappoint our fans because we know the expectations are high,” Oke said.

 

Experienced Katsina United came from behind to beat youthful Oyo State 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-20), while rejuvenated Kada Kings pummeled Spartans of Yola 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-14) in front of their home fans at the Indoor Hall of Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS).

Coach of Kada Kings, Jonathan David said his team belongs to the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League. He said Kada Kings are hungry for glory adding that the journey to greatness has begun. 

 

Bauchi Spikers also spanked Equity Spikers of Kebbi 3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25-16) in the last match of the day.
