SUNSHINE Stars have moved to strengthen the squad available to coach Gbenga Ogunbote with the addition of Kehinde Adedipe, Ifegwu Ojukwu and five others during the NPFL midseason transfer window.

Academy alumnus, Adedipe returned to Sunshine Stars after two productive spells with Rivers United and a stint with Enugu Rangers. Fellow midfielder and teammate at United, Fredrick Obomate also swapped base in Port Harcourt for Akure.

Energetic forward, Ojukwu joined the Owena Whales from former champions, Enugu Rangers just as young striker, Jide Jimoh switched from Akure City FC to Sunshine Stars.

Playmaker, Sunday Emmanuel and towering defender, Jamiu Alimi returned to the Club as free agents while the contract of young midfielder, Bayo Odumosu of Dyamite Force FC was also lodged successfully during the midseason window.

Coach Ogunbote expressed optimism that the new additions facilitated by the Club's pulling power will be able to help with the push required to improve on the team's first stanza results.

Ogunbote stated: "the team needed to be beefed up and with the little we have and our status this is the best we could get at this time.

"I am believing with this, things will improve for us. I welcome the new players and am looking forward to a positive time together."

The new players signed till the end of the season with a renewable option.
