NIGERIA and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will return to Italy on December 29 after completing his rehabilitation programme on his dislocated shoulder in Belgium, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Super Eagles striker, who is undergoing therapies under the supervision of Belgian national team’s physio Lieven Maesschalck in Antwerp’s Move to Cure clinic, will resume training with Napoli ahead of the first game after the Christmas break against Cagliari on January 3.
The Nigeria international returned from international duty with a shoulder injury and the Partenopei have coped without the young centre-forward against AC Milan, AS Roma, Alkmaar, Crotone, Real Sociedad, Sampdoria and Inter Milan.
The 21-year-old scored just twice in six appearances for Napoli since his big money move from LOSC Lille last summer.
Meanwhile, Dries Mertens has reportedly joined Osimhen in Antwerp to recover from a sprained ankle and hopes to recover in time to face Juventus in the Italian Supercup on January 20.
The Belgium international got injured against Inter on Wednesday and is expected to remain out of action for at least three weeks.
Mertens is working towards his recovery and hopes to be eligible to play the Italian Supercup against Juventus on January 20.
