RECUPERATING Nigeria and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has traveled to Antwerp, Belgium, to speed up the recovery time, Sky Sport Italia reported on Tuesday.
According to the Italian news outlet, the Super Eagles forward will work with the Belgian national team’s physio Lieven Maesschalck, who has previously helped Napoli with Dries Mertenz, Faouzi Ghoulam and Amin Younes.
According to reports, the 21-year-old specifically asked for and obtained authorization from the medical staff at Napoli for the trip to Belgium.
The Nigeria international returned from international duty with a shoulder injury and the Partenopei have coped without the young center-forward against AC Milan, AS Roma, Alkmaar, Crotone, Real Sociedad and Sampdoria.
Osimhen has scored just twice in six appearances for Napoli since his big money move from LOSC Lille last summer.
Osimhen, who is automatically out of today’s clash with Inter Milan, may also not recover on time and feature in Napoli’s next two games before Christmas. The Gennaro Gatusso side are away to Lazio on December 20 before hosting Torino on December 23.
