NIGERIA international Samuel Chukwueze is delighted to link up with his Spanish team Villarreal CF for pre-season training ahead of the 2020/2021 Spanish Primera Liga season, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The Super Eagles winger, who was at the team’s training ground Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa Cerámica on Tuesday, uploaded pictures of his first session on his Instagram account with the caption, “Good to be back grinning face with smiling eyes🏽💪🏿Red heart.”

The 21-year-old was a consistent performer for the Yellow Submarine last season, featuring in 39 games across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

He will have the opportunity to showcase his talent in next season’s Europa League competition after helping the team to a 5th place finish.

The Yellows will today head to Algorfa for their pre-season training where they will stay at the La Finca Hotel, until the 28th August. During this time, Unai Emery’s side will play three friendly games on 22nd, 25th and 28th August at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia. The first two games are confirmed to be against Cartagena and Tenerife, both Segunda División sides.

Once this tour has finished, Villarreal will return to work at the Training Ground, until the restart of La Liga. In September, the Yellows will play two pre-season games in Vila-real.

Meanwhile Villarreal CF president Fernando Roig has assured club fans of a great season as the team is focused on doing well at both the La Liga and the Europa League.

"We've just ended a great season, finishing fifth in La Liga. We will play in the Europa League and I'm sure it'll be a great season. We're really excited. We're in a position where we can compete with the best Spanish clubs.

"The main objective is to be in the top flight for another season. From that base, we haven't renounced anything and we will try and go as far as possible in domestic and continental competition. We've brought in a young manager, but with a lot of experience. Emery has a lot of years in the football world to his name and we will have a better team than last year and a worse team than the following year."
