NIGERIA midfielder, Azubuike Okechukwu joined Brazilian forward, Robinho and Senegalese striker, Demba Ba in celebrating the Turkish Super Lig title after Istanbul Basaksehir defeated Kayserispor 1-0 on Sunday.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the former Nigeria U-23 Eagles captain who joined Basaksehir on loan from Egyptian club Pyramids FC, featured in 17 league games for the Turkish club this season.

“Yes. Turkish champions๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ…. Always with my big bro️ @Robinho,” he twitted alongside a picture with the former Manchester City forward.

He also uploaded a picture of celebration with Demba Ba with a caption, “Sleep who๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. Eyes still shinning ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ…”.

The 23-year-old midfielder was, however, not involved as they secured their 20th win of the season and secure the title with a game left to play, thanks to a 19th minute strike by Mahmut Tekdemir.

The former Bayelsa United captain is now the fifth Nigerian player to win the Turkish Super Lig title which is an incredible achievement for the former youth international.

Emmanuel Emenike, former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo, Henry Onyekuru and Uche Okechukwu are the other Nigerian players who also won the Super Lig title.

The victory sees Basaksehir move seven points clear of second-place Trabzonspor who lost 4-3 at home to Konyaspor on Sunday, July 19.

Istanbul's latest win also ended the dominance of the Super Lig’s top teams Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas who have 54 titles among them.
