MANCHESTER United new signing Odion Ighalo has been put
through his paces by undergoing a special fitness regime following his return
to English football, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Nigeria international is set to be part of the United
side which travels to a warm weather training camp later this week as Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer's side prepare for a crucial match against Chelsea on Monday
17 February.
The former Watford forward will train with the first-team
squad all of next week, but has stepped up his preparations early by undergoing
a special fitness regime at the National Taekwondo Centre in Newton Heath, Manchester.
Ighalo took part in a session on Tuesday which saw him
undergo a number of different exercises as he looks to build his overall
fitness levels ahead of a packed fixture schedule.
“Good week so far with Ighalo as we prepare him for his
move to Manchester United. Working behind the scenes, a fantastic Athlete but
the hard work begins,” Richardson Sport wrote on social media.
The Nigeria international agreed a deadline day move to
United last week and is adjusting to life in Manchester following completion of
his five-month loan deal.
The 30-year-old has not played competitively since the
start of December and is currently facing a race against the clock to regain
match sharpness ahead of United's next fixture at Stamford Bridge.
