BULGARIAN top division side, Lokomotive Plovdiv have
snapped up Nigerian prodigy Akinsola Akinyemi, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The 26 years old defender was unveiled by The Railwaymen on
Tuesday after putting pen to paper on two year-deal.
Akinyemi, the son of ODSFA chairman and Sunshine Stars
President, Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi, is signed on to fill the void of his
compatriot and former Sunshine Stars player, Stephen Eze who departed the club
recently.
"I'm pleased to be part of the team already. The
first day I joined the team’s training camp in Turkey, I was welcomed by all
the football players and coaches. I look forward to this new challenge and
endeavor for me. I hope to perform on a level and achieve something great with
my teammates," Akinshola said.
While announcing the deal, the former Bulgarian league
champion, said, “PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv signed a contract with Akinsola Akinyemi.
His contract term is 2 years. This is the third new addition to Lokomotiv, with
Mihovil Valve and Valentino Pouliese also joining the "black and white"
earlier.
“PFC Lokomotiv wishes success to Akinsola Akinemi with
the team of "black and white".
Born in Norway on July 12, 1993, Akinyemi who last
featured for Sandnes Ulf, has earlier played for Valerenga, Döbak-Frogn, Grorud
and Fredrikstad in the Norwegian League.
