Life Goes On FC win 4th Eletu-Odibo Ramadan Cup

LIFE Goes On FC, Igbosere emerged winner of the 4th Kazeem Eletu-Odibo Ramadan Football competition after defeating T.Boy FC, Epetedo 2-0 in the final held on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos.


Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the Eko Youth Sport Association organised grassroot soccer tourney, which featured 32 teams across the state, saw skillful and talented legs slugging it out among themselves for weeks.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the final, the sponsor of the competition, Dr. Prince Kazeem Eletu-Odibo, Chairman/CEO Kazeem Royal Properties Ltd, while thanking all participants, said he happy to contribute his quota in taking the youths off the streets by engaging them through the football competition.

“I want to say thank you to God Almighty and everybody that made this occasion a very successful one. I will continue to do the best I can to help move the boys off the streets, make them a better person tomorrow, so that they can be useful to themselves, their families and the country at large.”

Prince Kazeem Eletu-Odibo, who is optimistic that the 5th edition will be better, said, “We will leave that one to God but I believe that the 5th edition is going to be better than this and by the special grace of God we will all be available when the time comes.”

Chairman of occasion, Otunba Tomori Williams, CEO TW Construction Ltd commended Prince Eletu-Odibo for his consistency in sponsoring the competition for the past four years.

“Glory be to God that He has given us the opportunity to participate in youth development and sports in general in Lagos State. I am highly delighted to be here, Prince Eletu-Odibo is my brother and it is more or less becoming a partnership. What he does is what I am doing and I felt that I should be able to grace the final today and also honour the man that has put this together. Honestly, all I can say is thank you to him.

“The best thing few of us could do is to make sure that we disengage the youths from their rough life, give them a sense of belonging and make them feel like part of the society. Vices within our society are growing day by day and the best thing we could do is to put-in the little resources at our disposal and take them off the streets so that they can be productive to themselves, their families and the larger society.

“So what we are doing in conjunction with Ambassador Eletu is to see that we disengage them from their present vices, make them useful to themselves. That is the only time they can reciprocate by being useful to the society,” Otunba Williams said to Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
  
One of the special guests, Moses Ikeakhe, however clamour for more support for the competition.

“Prince Kazeem is a very good friend and a supporter of football in Nigeria and the Nigerian youths in general. It’s a pleasure giving him the support. Having football fans come out en mass here is quite inspiring and and I'm happy it turns out this way.

"This king of competition needed more support from the media and all stakeholders involved in the development of football in the country.

“There is need to support anything that has to do with young people doing well with their lives, be it football, as long as it helps Nigerians,” Ikeakhe said.

Prince Lateef Ojora Ogunfowora, Cordinator, Eko Youth Sport Association said the development of sports from the grassroot will continue to be paramount to the association.  

“We have to give glory to God almighty for the success of this competition. We at Eko Youth Sport Association will continue to organize credible competitions in the state which will afford more hidden talents to be showcased and discovered from the grassroot.
