SUNSHINE Stars will
have new signings including ex-Super Eagles defender Kunle Odunlami and Otegbeye Ajibola in the squad when they take on Nasarawa United in the Nigeria
Professional Football League Matchday 23 encounter at the Akure Township
Stadium on Sunday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Others include Tope Akande, Mike Egbeta, Gabriel Sola, Godbless Asamoah and West Omodu.
League Management
Committee had bared the Owena Waves from using its newly-signed players in the
2017/2018 NPFL season as the club is owing the club’s players and coaches, as
well as management staff of the agency, more than N400 million.
In a series of tweets
by the official Twitter handle of
Akure-based clubside on Saturday, the management has resolved the issues
holding back the new players’ licences with the LMC.
“Following relentless
efforts of our mgt/other stakeholders we have resolved issues holding back our
new players' licences with the @LMCNPFL.
“The players, signed
during the mid season transfer window to fortify our team can now play for us from
tomorrow's game vs @Nasarawaunited.
“The new players are
defenders, Kunle Odunlami who rejoined us after a spell with El Merrick of
Sudan & ex @FCIkoroduunited's man Tope Akande.
“Midfielders are
former @FCIfeanyiUbah's duo, Mike Egbeta & Gabriel Sola. Striker,
@OtegbeyeAjibol8 returned from a stint with @AkwaUnited_fc.
“Ghanaian Godbless
Asamoah, formerly of @RiversUnitedFC & West Omodu from Kudahenveiru United
in the Maldives also joined our strike force.
“The new players
signed an initial deal through till the end of the season,” the club said via
@SunshineFCAkure.
