Divine Oduduru ran 20.28secs to emerge winner in the 200m final at the NCAA

The Texas Tech
University’s sprinter, who missed out on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games
due to school commitments, won by one one-hundredth of a second over Florida
State sprinter Andre Ewers (20.29), Georgia’s Kendal Williams (20.32) and LSU’s
Jaron Flournoy (20.43).
The 2016 Olympian becomes
the first Texas Tech athlete to win a 200m NCAA title and the second Nigerian
to win the NCAA title in two years, after Tobi Amusan won the 100mH in 2017.
Meanwhile, reigning
African 200m record holder (22.04 seconds) Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor took
to the social media to hail Oduduru over the new feat.

tweeted via @mountain214.
Texas Tech University
Athletics also commended Oduduru via @TechAthletics, saying “We’ve got a

in the 200 meter dash! #WreckEm #NCAATF 🏆🥇.”
