SUPER Eagles coach
Gernot Rohr can heave a sigh of relief following the cheering news that
Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has resumed light training, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com
reports.
The 21 year old suffered
a hamstring injury and forced off as his side were humiliated 5-0 at Crystal
Palace on April 28, thus, giving the Nigerian national team handler something
to worry about ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
However, Nididi revealed
the cheering news of his early return by posting a picture of his training
session on his Instagram page @ndidi25 with the caption, “A sunny day to
recuperate ☀️ 🏃🏾♂️🙏🏾”.
Ndidi is expected to
be out of action for six weeks, missing the Super Eagles’ friendly games against
DR Congo in the southern city of Port Harcourt on May 28 and against England at
Wembley on June 2.
With 33 Premier
League games, Ndidi who won Leicester City Young Player of the Year award for
the 2017-18 season, has been one of the key men for the club so far this season.
Recalled that during
his last press conference, Foxes manager Claude Puel did not shed any light on
the Ndidi’s injury and did not state whether or not the midfielder will be fit
for the 2018 World Cup.
