Aiteo Cup: Gata delighted with first career hat trick

ABUBAKAR Bukola Saraki (ABS FC) Ilorin forward, Adeshina Gata is in cloud nine after scoring his first ever career hat-trick during his side's 6-3 bashing of Adamawa Feeders team in a round of 32 Aiteo Cup on Wednesday in Ilorin.


In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, an excited Gata said he dedicates the feat to his sister who just delivered of a baby three days ago.

“I feel very happy to have scored three goals during the game. This is the first time I will scoring an hat-trick and also go home with a match-ball. I've scored two goals before and getting three goals today is a thing of joy for me. 

"Not that the game was that easy but we thank God that we are through to the next round. 

"I will like to dedicate the hat-trick to my sister who put to bed three days ago," Gata told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com .

Gata opened the scoring with just two minutes on the clock when an Adamawa Feeders defender deflected his shot to his own net.

The youngster doubled the lead two minutes later for the hosts when he dribbled past no fewer than three defenders to put the Saraki Boys in the driving sit.

In the 6th minute, Kazil Mohammed capitalized on ABS FC's defensive error to lob the ball over Yinka Adewale in goal for the Saraki Boys to make the scoreline 2-1.

The Saraki Boys dominated proceedings throughout the first stanza to stamp their authority on the visitors.

Gata returned from where he stopped in the first half troubling the Adamawa Feeders defense from time to time.

He completed his hat-trick in the 53rd minute when he rounded the entire Adamawa Feeders defenders up to slowly slot past them inside the net.

Ibrahim Abdullahi who replaced Orji Ejike in the 56th minute, added to the Saraki Boys' tally in the 62nd minute, finishing beautifully well to make it 4-1.

Martin Ossy recovered from a tripping to find the net to give the Saraki Boys a 5-1 lead in the 72nd minute.

Adamawa Feeders' Babangida Salihu scored the first of his brace in the 74th minute when he capitalized on a ABS FC's defensive lacklustre to find the back of the net.

He completed his brace when he headed past Adewale from a Yusuf Isa's cross in the 85th minute.

Ossy completed the Saraki Boys' rout and his brace in the extra time, curling a well taken shot to the far left of Mamure Amako in goal for Adamawa Feeders.
