Mohammed targets more goals for ABS

By Akeem Lawal

STRIKER Mohammed Mohammed has told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com he is delighted his 15th minute strike proved to be the match winner for Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS FC) in a 1-0 win over Wikki Tourists in the Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 10 fixture on Sunday.

Mohammed got the ball from Anaekwe Ebuka's throw-in at the edge of Wikki's box, the lanky frontman outmuscled two defenders before burying past outrushing goalkeeper Emeka Nwabulu to take his tally to four this season.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the encounter held at the Kwara State Stadium, the former Heartland FC forward said he is hoping to continue to get his name on the score sheet as he plans to be among the top scorers in the top flight.

“Most importantly, I am happy that we were able to secure this victory in the first place. You know it will be of no importance to me if I got the goal and at the end of the day the team lost or drew the game. I’m very happy that I was the one to score the goal in the early stages of the game and kudos to my team mates for fighting to hold on for the win.

“I was actually looking forward to score at least two goals against Wikki but I was unlucky in front of goal. I will keep learning day by day because my target is to become the highest goalscorer in the league," Mohammed told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.

ABS FC have now garnered 17 points from nine games, occupying third on the log while Wikki Tourists sit in 17th in the NPFL log with 10 points from eight games.

The Ilorin based clubside will take on Enugu Rangers in one the PFL matchday 11 fixtures at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
