Iwobi, Lookman, Aluko shortlisted for London Football Awards

ARSENAL forward, Alex Iwobi has been shortlisted alongside Everton new boy Ademola Lookman for the London Young Player of the Year category. The category also features Tottenham goalscoring midfielder Dele Alli, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin and Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon.

Another Nigerian forward, Sone Aluko leads the way in the battle for Best Football League Player category after his goal scoring exploits help Fulham FC in their 4-1 victory over Hull City in their FA Cup fourth round clash last weekend.

Aluko who has scored three goals in 15 appearances for Fulham since he joined them from Hull City in 2016, will battle Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan, QPR's Alex Smithies and Fulham’s Tom Cairney for the award.

Nominees and winners of the 2017 London Football Awards have been selected by an expert judging panel from the worlds of football and media, from former players to major footballing bodies, and sports media, including Sky Sports, BBC, The Telegraph, Evening Standard and talkSPORT.

The winners will be announced on March 2 at Battersea Evolution as part of an evening which has become an increasingly high-profile event in the sporting calendar, with attendees in recent years including Arsene Wenger, Dimitri Payet, Aaron Ramsey, Roy Hodgson, Harry Redknapp and Harry Kane.
