Enugu Rangers striker, Ifeanyi Egwim who suffered a leg
bone fracture in the final fixture of the NPFL season has been discharged from
the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.
Egwim was fouled by goalkeeper Kazeem Yekeen in their 4-0
victory over El-Kanemi Warriors as the Flying Antelopes cruised to their first
victory in the topflight after 32 years of wait.
The striker was subsequently admitted at the National
Orthopaedic Hospital where he underwent two successful surgeries.
After spending close to four weeks at the hospital, he
was discharged on Friday and is expected to resume his rehabilitation programme
immediately.
Enugu Rangers team doctor, Emeka Onyia had after the
second surgery said the player will soon commence his road to recovery which he
projected should not pass four months if there is no relapse.
"Egwim has high hope of recovering very first
because of his strong belief. He will soon start rehabilitation process and we
have high hope that he won’t stay too long out of football. He is expected to
stay out of the game for projected four months if there was no setback.”
