Ebuehi joins Venezia on loan

ITALIAN side, Venezia have announced the signing of Super Eagles right back Tyronne Ebuehi on a season long loan deal from Benfica.

 

The newly promoted Serie A side made the announcement via the club’s website on Monday after the Nigeria international passed his medicals.

“Venezia FC is pleased to announce that the signing of Nigerian international right-back Tyronne Ebuehi 25, on loan from Benfica.


 

“Born in the Netherlands, Ebuehi began his professional career at Dutch side ADO Den Haag, where he made 78 league appearances across four seasons in the Eredivisie, before earning a move to Benfica in 2018. After two seasons on the books at Benfica — the first lost to injury, the second with Benfica’s reserve team — Ebuehi went out on loan to FC Twente in the Eredivisie last season, starting 33 of 34 matches during the campaign.

 

“In international play, Ebuehi has earned 10 caps with the Nigerian national team, most recently in March 2021 in qualification for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Ebuehi was in Nigeria’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and made a 45-minute appearance in his country’s 2-0 win over Iceland.

 

“Welcome, Tyronne,” the club wrote on its website.
