Coach Kabir Suleiman Dogo
has revealed to Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com the
major reason why he resigned as Technical Adviser of the Nigeria Professional
Football League club, Nasarawa United.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com
on Tuesday, Dogo, who guided the team to 12th place finish in the last NPFL season
and the semi final of this year’s Aiteo Cup, said he needed to take on new challenges following the expiration of his contract.Dogo spent five years with the Solid Miners after joining them from ABS.
He thanked the government of Nasarawa State and the club management for giving him the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
“My contract with the club
expired after the conclusion of the season which ended following our Aiteo Cup
exit. I don’t have any problem with the club and likewise the club doesn’t have
problems with me. We had a cordial relationship but I have to move on and seek
for new challenges.
“Our relationship still
continues because I had a great time working with the club. My time with them
was memorable and I appreciate the government and the management of the team
for giving me the opportunity to manage the team. The players were fantastic
and the supporters were amazing too. I wish the team more success in the
future,” Dogo told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
High point of Dogo’s career
at Nasarawa was leading the team to the finals of the 2016 Federations Cup
where they lost to FC Ifeanyi Uba on penalties and guiding the team to second
round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
