Ilechukwu: MFM’s 4-0 loss to Nasarawa painful, heartbreaking

By Akeem Lawal
MOUNTAIN of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM FC) coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed his disappointment following the team's 4-0 loss to Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League match day 17 decided at the Lafia Township Stadium last Sunday.

With goals from Adamu Hassan, Yinka Onaolapo, Anthonin Oussou and Abdulrahman Bashir, MFM dropped to third place with 30 points, two less than leaders, Plateau United.

Ilechukwu, who described the loss as painful and heartbreaking, assured the club fans that the team will bounce back to winning ways.

"We are deeply sorry for Sunday's loss; it is painful and heart breaking to me and the entire team.  I want to assure you all that the team will bounce back. We are very very sorry," the 'Working One' as fondly called posted on his Facebook page.

In a telephone chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com on Monday, Ilechukwu refused to blame officiating but said the focus now is on their next match at home to El Kanemi Warriors this weekend

"Nothing went wrong for the loss, its football. I don't want to talk about officiating in the league, I want to keep silent and focus on the development of my team.

“We have a sound mind for next game, it's all about prepare for next game and win which is very important. To me yesterday loss is a big motivation to the team because we can't afford to play two games without getting three points; I don't think it's possible. We have to be prepared for our next game against El Kanemi Warriors this weekend,” Ilechukwu told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
