IT was a tale of mixed fortunes for Nigerian players at the weekend in the Turkish top flight as two Super Eagles defenders, Godfrey Oboabona and Kenneth Omeruo were in action for their respective clubs in a match that pitched both players against one another.
The match which was a home match for Omeruo's Alanyanspor was highly explosive as five goals were scored.
Both Oboabona and Omeruo were in action in the five goal thriller tie.
Oboabona, the former captain of Sunshine Stars shone like a million star as he led the line very well for the visiting team, Rizespor.
Oboabona's commanding performance at the heart of Rizespor defence contributed to the away win as they got the better of Omeruo's team by 3-2.
Sporting jersey no 2, Oboabona made several tackles and interceptions that ensured maximum victory for the visiting team, Rizespor.
Speaking after the match, the AFCON 2013 Trophy winner dedicated the victory to all his fans worldwide.
"I am really happy with the victory today. It came as a result of hard work by the entire team and am dedicating it to all my fans both home and abroad".
Rizespor who are 13th on the table will face Konyaspor in their next match billed for this weekend at the Konya Buyuksehir Torku Arena.
