Abe clamours for fans support against 3SC

SUNSHINE Stars captain, Abe Sunday has thanked Ondo State indigenes in Calabar for their support in their opening match of the NPFL season against Enyimba last weekend, while also charging Akure fans to come out and cheer the team to victory over 3SC on Wednesday.


Owena Waves lost 1-0 to the Peoples' Elephant and Abe who did not feature in the match due to injury was on ground to give moral support to the team.

"We say a big thank you to them and we call on our fans to be at the stadium on Wednesday as we face 3SC in Akure in our first home match of the season".

Abe, who was a member of the Nigeria U-20 team at the 2009 FIFA World Cup stressed the need for the players to shift focus to the match against the Oluyole Warriors, saying it remains the biggest test, being the first home match of the season.

"It is very important for us to shift our focus to the match on Wednesday as we shall be playing before our home fans".

"Match against 3SC at any level is always difficult. But with the quality of players in our team and the help of God Almighty in addition to the support of our fans, we shall be victorious".

Abe popularly known as "the king of assists" commended the team's management led by club president, Prince Dapo Ajibade for the good welfare package put in place for the team.

According to him, the team will work hard this soccer season to put smiles on the faces of the people of Ondo State at the end of the season.

Sunshine Stars who recorded impressive performance against Enyimba on the opening day of the season, will play host to 3SC of Ibadan in their first home match of the season on Wednesday in Akure.
