Power Lee receives IMA, highest award in Isoko land


PRO Wrestling Africa (PWA) heavyweight champion and titleholder, Godspower Ikpide, popularly called  Mr. Peace 'Power Lee De Great', has been honoured by Isoko Development Union, (IDU), the apex socio-cultural body of the Isoko ethnic Nationality, under the auspices of its President General, High Chief (Hon.) Iduh Amadhe, for being the No.1 wrestler in Nigeria and on the African continent.

Power Lee, who is also the number three around the world of wrestling and hails from Akiewhe-Owhe in Isoko was honoured with the Isoko Merit Award (IMA).

The President General of Isoko Nation stated that, the Isoko Merit Award is the highest Award in Isoko Land and it became necessary to appreciate the recipient with it so as to encourage, inspire and recognize the Isoko sons and daughters who are shaping destiny of Isoko Nation either through empowerment, sports development and promotions, investment or philanthropist gestures.

“For those not given today, do not be discouraged, God knows and He will bless you accordingly and we shall reach out to you soonest,” he said.
He however, encouraged all and sundry to be in the vanguard of peace and development stressing that, those who are being honoured was according to God’s designation.
Recipient of the Isoko Merit Award were: Elder Peter Ovie Erebi, Arch. Joseph Ajiri Ogeh, Dr. Oboreh Jacob Snapp (PHD), Hon. Eta Enahoro, High Chief Immanuel Ewomazino Omoefe and Engr. Benson Adano.

Other awardees include: Chief Greg Edoh, Engr. Raphael Dadalyon Owhe, Mrs. Stella Ngozi Ovuzourie Macauley, State.Daniel Omoyibo, Barr (Chief) Duncan Afalinkor, Chief Mrs. Josephine Oroboaveru, Mr. Emmanuel Oristsejolomi Uduaghan and Engr. Chief Donatus Adna Umukoro (FNSE) alongside Egwero Ogho-Oghene Omano.

Dr. Oboreh said the award is a motivation in future endeavors while Power Lee described it as a big honour that will gear him up to win more laurels for the Isoko nation locally and internationally.
 
Ikpide acknowledge all the seven Isoko Traditional Rulers including the Okugbe of Isoko in Bayelsa that jointly presented to him the Award, thanking them for their presence, words of encouragements and prayers.

Earlier, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State had through his representative, Hon. Henry Sakpra, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Delta State referred to Isoko Nation as one of the most organized and vibrant groups in the state.

He said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has brought good tidings of hope, and peace to the Isoko people.

He commended Amadhe for the success recorded within the short period of seven months he has been in office, adding that the Governor has promised to fix pot holes in Isoko Roads which are very dear to the state.
