2016 CAVB WOMEN’S CONTINENTAL CUP:Nigeria wins 3rd place, qualify for World Championship

NIGERIA on Sunday won the third place in the ongoing CAVB Women’s Continental Cup finals at the Jabi lakeside in Abuja.

The Nigerian teams 1 and 2 will now participate in the Women Beach Volleyball World Championship, Sportsbiz247 reports.

The championship also serves as the African women beach volleyball qualifier for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

NIGERIA'S women team on Saturday in Abuja failed in the bid to claim Africa’s sole ticket to the beach volleyball event of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Nigeria, who are hosting nine other countries at the Jabi Lakeside, lost out to Egypt in the semi-finals of the CAVB Continental Cup Women’s Finals, which is Africa’s Olympic qualifier.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL OLYMPIC QUALIFIER: Gambia, Namibia, Morocco arrive Nigeria

GAMBIA, Namibia and Morocco have arrived Nigeria for the final round of the Women’s Beach Volleyball Olympic qualifier scheduled to hold from April 13 to 18 in Abuja.

The qualifiers will be contested by 12 teams for the continental slots at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
